چکیده
We study the impact of induced pressure fields on water flow and salt rejection in nanopores produced MoS2 membranes. observe that permeability are not impacted by distance between pores. This result contradicts continuous fluid mechanics calculations microfilters, which indicates existence hydrodynamic interactions adjacent pores increase mobility. Our results suggest at this nanoscale, do affect mobility through nanopores.

Tunable molecular separation by nanoporous membranes
Metal-organic frameworks offer tremendous potential for efficient separation of molecular mixtures. Different pore sizes and suitable functionalizations of the framework allow for an adjustment of the static selectivity. Here we report membranes which offer dynamic control of the selectivity by remote signals, thus enabling a continuous adjustment of the permeate flux. This is realized by assem...
متن کاملEffective interactions between fluid membranes.
A self-consistent theory is proposed for the general problem of interacting undulating fluid membranes subject to the constraint that they do not interpenetrate. We implement the steric constraint via an exact functional integral representation and, through the use of a saddle-point approximation, transform it into a novel effective steric potential. The steric potential is found to consist of ...
متن کاملNanoporous Membranes for Hydrogen Production : Experimental Studies and Molecular Simulations
In this project, we study SiC nanoporous membranes, which exhibit the potential to overcome many of the difficulties other inorganic membranes face, particularly under conditions typically encountered in reactive separations for H2 production, and in fuel-cell applications. In particular, we systematically investigate and further develop the technique of pre-ceramic polymer pyrolysis to produce...
متن کاملMechanisms of molecular permeation through nanoporous graphene membranes.
We present an investigation of molecular permeation of gases through nanoporous graphene membranes via molecular dynamics simulations; four different gases are investigated, namely helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, and methane. We show that in addition to the direct (gas-kinetic) flux of molecules crossing from the bulk phase on one side of the graphene to the bulk phase on the other side, for gases ...
متن کاملEvaporation from Nanoporous Membranes
Cooling demands of advanced electronics are increasing rapidly, often exceeding capabilities of conventional thermal management techniques. Thin film evaporation has emerged as one of the most promising thermal management solutions. High heat transfer rates can be achieved in thin films of liquids due to a small conduction resistance through the film to the evaporating interface. In this thesis...
